Our Mission

Finesse Sport United FC is a FA accredited club, affiliated with The London Football Association. We are based in the London borough of Barking & Dagenham on the border line of Essex county. Our main ethos is to promote a culture of togetherness, positivity and self-confidence. We aim to bring excitement, a level of elitism and professional standard to grassroots football within our local community.

As a club, our goal is to cultivate an environment that develops individuals and teams that have a positive and winning mentality. In relation to The FA four corner model, we strongly believe that success on and off the football pitch stems from a strong psychological mindset.

We aim to achieve this strong psychological state by combining three key components: Faith, Desire, and Attitude (FDA).

Faith, desire and a positive attitude are the essential key elements we believe contribute to a winning and successful mindset. This coincides with our motto of Dream! Dare! Deliver! - which is our core value and what we believe sets us apart from others. We'll leave you with this quote:

“Whatever the mind can conceive the mind can achieve and all things are possible to him who believes.”

At Finesse Sport United FC we believe every player should play with confidence and belief. Playing with a high level of intelligence and having the freedom to be creative will allow football to be enjoyable, exciting and entertaining. Through this, players will develop a genuine passion and desire for the sport, which are all attributes that contribute to success.

We aim to adopt a fluid and exciting playing style that stems from different key principles. The main principle and focus for us is ball mastery, then ball retention in possession, speed of thought and positional rotation. This is similar to principles developed by Johan Cruyff and the style of football associated with the likes of some of the world best football clubs like AFC Ajax, FC Barcelona, and most recently Liverpool FC and Manchester City FC.

We are major advocates for individuals to play with confidence, freedom and self expression. We want all our players to play with an element of speed, flare and skill; being courageous and bold with their approach to the beautiful game. These are components associated with players such as Messi, Ronaldo, Mane, Pogba, Ronaldinho and Neymar just to name a few.

First and foremost Finesse Sport United FC coaches will always model positive behaviour, as all good leaders do. We will consistently encourage the players, at all times, to learn and develop good social skills. It is essential that every player knows the club rules and behaviour policy by explaining to them carefully, using examples of outstanding or good behaviour.

Coaches are always observing to reward and praise good behaviour. In the rare case of any disruptive behaviour, for whatever reason, we would always encourage the right behaviour but also take necessary disciplinary actions.

One of our number 1 rules for our club is RESPECT. This sets the foundation for positive behaviour. Players and parents must respect all other players and coaches, regardless of their age, gender, race, religion and abilities.

We have a ZERO tolerant rule for bullying within the club and this will be dealt with straight away. In any case of bullying parents or carers will be made aware and this may result in your player being asked to leave the club.

Every player is encouraged to have a voice. To be able to inform coaches about anything they may be unhappy with and this can be resolved reasonably. We aim to do this through creating our own players committee. This will act as a forum where players meet to speak about what they want to see happen within their club.
